March Ministry Update

Hello friends and family!
It's hard to believe the school year is almost over! I'm so grateful to be able to work with God (or really, have him work through me and my weaknesses) at Collin. Thank you thank you for helping make that happen this year with your support and encouragement!

Outreach

FOCUS has a neat relationship with a very similar campus ministry called CCF (Campus Christian Fellowship) in Bellingham, Washington. They've been around for almost 50 years and we've learned so much from them! Every year some of their students come to Texas during their spring break to do evangelism on our campuses. We planned a total of 10 events on 4 Collin campuses for a whirlwind week. The students' vigor and love for Jesus was IMMENSELY encouraging to me, and we met lots of new students! They set the tone for the rest of the semester and outreach has been more lively since they came.

Outreach at the McKinney campus! The 3 in the middle are from Western Washington University.
This is one of our core members! We went shopping for photo booth supplies for the "Hawaiian Party" outreach event at the Frisco campus...
...and made our own frame!

1on1 Bible Study

For most of my blogs, I've kept updates from Bible studies with students short and sweet in the "prayer requests" section... but this time I have great news to share that deserves more description! I've been studying with A since the beginning of the school year, and she started off with an "all roads lead to heaven" belief. It's been exciting to see her start to pray of her own accord and explore who Jesus is. Now, she wants to get baptized! We'll be having another conversation this week about what it means to be a disciple, and I'm overjoyed that she wants a relationship with our Savior. Praise God!

This is her brand-new puppy, Kona!

Small Group (Core)

In the past month, we've met a couple of students who are excited to grow in their faith and participate in community!! I'm amazed at how much their presence changes the dynamic of the whole group. Austin (my co-leader) and I started a book study on Ephesians, something that would have been difficult to do with last semester's dynamic (and attention span). We only have a few weeks left, and I'm so grateful God put these students in our group before summer comes with all its potential for loneliness and stagnant faith.

After-core laughs :)
I left my phone abandoned around these two while bowling over spring break... a surefire way to get some goofy selfies.

Student Leaders

With almost two semesters of leadership under their belts (four for one of our leaders!), God has grown each of these girls so much. Sweet Sophie (pictured below) has grown immensely in her heart and skill for outreach! At the beginning of the year it was a big step talking to just a few new students. But now, she gladly comes to outreach events that aren't even at her campus! Watching her boldness and understanding of God develop has been a great joy.

Sophie and I made dinner for the girls at one of our leader meetings :)

Family Night

I know this is short notice... but if you'd like to see with your own eyes what God is doing in students' lives, I'd love for you to come to Family Night! This will be our regular Thursday Night Fellowship (TNF), but will include a few short testimonies from students and parents. If you're free this Thursday at 7:30 let me know and I can tell you where to park/give you directions!

My coworker Adriana makes beautiful designs for all our social media ads <3

Prayer Requests

  • A: that she would understand what it means to be a disciple and grow in her love of Jesus, and that I would be encouraging and have wisdom in helping her understand.
  • That our core would grow in their faith and their involvement in godly community in the short time we have left.
  • That Family Night would affirm and bolster godly family relationships, and that unbelieving parents/friends would experience God's love.
  • That we would continue to meet students who are open to God in the last few weeks of school.
Thank you once again for your partnership and prayer! God has blessed me with each and every one of you. :)
